Wolf Laurel Resort - The largest and best known resort in Asheville's Big Bald Highlands region. Wolf Laurel Resort is a gated community offering golf, tennis, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, an extensive horseback riding program, swimming and many other activities on it's almost 5,000 acres. It is also adjacent to Wolf Laurel Ski Resort. Over 500 homes are already built and many more are currently under construction including a new townhome project. Re-sales of existing homes include rustic cabins, high elevation estate homes, condos and townhomes.
The Preserve At Wolf Laurel - The new 1,300 acre development inside of Wolf Laurel Resort is home to the Wolf Laurel Stables and the prestigious Ridges Section of The Preserve. Many visitors consider the long-distance views from The Ridges as the best in all of Western North Carolina.
Wolf Laurel Country Club - The private "members only" country club, golf course with club restaurant & lounge is a favored location for food, drink and entertainment in the area considering that Madison and Yancey Counties are "dry counties" with very difficult, archaic drinking laws. The golf course is one of the highest elevation courses in Eastern America & not to be missed along with the fantastic long-range views from the club.
Breakaway Village - A new resort in the Big Bald Highlands offering plans for a village atmosphere, ski slopes and great views. Breakaway will include single-family homes, townhomes and condos, as well as shops, restaurants, public spaces and more.
